not that i really care what you think, but
I was just walking along eating a dinosaur shaped arrowroot biscuit when lo but my right foot was soaking wet from a puddle of icey water on the kitchen floor. Which is when I remembered oh, this fridge, it’s fooked. And so it naturally follows that I must discuss the matter on the internet. Because self publishing? A safe haven for all manner of nonsense.
But tell me, what kind of fridge should I buy? We want a side by side with water and ice but of course we all know the perils of a side by side with water and ice. Are they too stupid for words? Do only the oddest of people really buy and LIKE them? Tell me, few remaining people who bother to check this site. I must know what you think.
Extra points for any lovely links you provide sending me to look at the fridge of YOUR dreams. Like maybe as many as ten extra points. In a game where points matter even though you had no idea you were playing.

I know nothing about major appliances, as I do not own my own home, and never have. I’m still reading over here, though.
And when you figure out the perfect appliance, let me know. Someday, I’ll need the information.

My in-laws really love their side-by-side with water and ice. But they also keep an extra fridge in the garage. Sometimes I wonder if you lose quite a bit of fridge space in the side-by-sides. No links, alas, but good luck finding one.

The Whirlpool Conquest Gold. Ice is in the door. If your kitchen’s big enough, definitely go with The Conquest. Oh….linky dinky: http://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/GC3SHEXNQ.html?mv_pc=_mshop

Poo - make me type all of this in again after not guessing the correct answer. Oh well. Yes, ice and water nice. We have a side by side with a hole in the door, and quick access to cold water and ice here in hot Vegas is nice.
It is a ‘counter depth’ model, which costs more (but since there is less refrigerator, shouldn’t it cost less?) and does not stick out beyond the counters alongside. This was important in SD with our narrow galley kitchen but not so much here with our square kitchen.
But yes, if you like ice then go for it.

Oh to have a house with enough space for a side-by-side….only in my dreams. I am stuck with a the old-fashion top-bottom styles. The secret to the fridge industry is that there really is only two or three companies that build all of them. Focus on the features that you really want and don’t over spend on others that you will never use.

If I needed a new fridge, I would get this. My neighbors have it, it’s breathtaking.
