Two days after I got home I came down with a slight fever and had this humongous cold sore. And I felt really sore because I ended up having to have a c-section. So, we had all this family (in-laws except for my mom) setting up in my house and drinking the wine and eating fancy cheeses. I'm up in my room with this huge cold sore feeling out of it and wishing everyone would go home. But of course, they didn't, so I went downstairs to seem at least a little social. I feel awful. I go outside to the patio with the baby to say hi, even though it's the last thing I wanted to do. The first thing my Mother-in-law says really loudly to me (having not seen me since she arrived that afternoon) is: "You have herpes on your lip. It's enormous. Have you talked to a doctor?"
