took long enough
December9
This morning a woman is coming to the house to meet Dan and I. If this meeting goes well this samesaid woman will becoming back to the house on a biweekly basis to clean it for me!
HAZZAH!
I am happy re this and hope she works out well. It would be nice to have her come weekly (and we may eventually do so) but as Dan and I both work at home having someone in the house every week might not work. As it is we plan to take every second Friday afternoon off to go for coffee or whatever. Which is nice, too. Not only will someone be cleaning my house but I’ll get a nice afternoon out with my husband.
HAAZAH SQUARED!
Must go prepare to interview my prospective maid!
HAZZAH A LOT OF TIMES!
Don’t take this as a judgment call but I was wondering, why you decided on getting a maid (rather than just move every couple of weeks)?
I’ve had maids…both private and services. If you hire her…a couple places to look are underneath the toilet seat and picture frames. They tend to slack off after a few weeks because they get comfortable so it’s always good to let them know you’re checking. Just a suggestion.
Tommy says I can have a maid but I’ve been through a few – enough to know that nobody cleans the house like I will so I’d rather spend the money on trips…or very excellent cleaning supplies.
Hazzah!
SOOO???? Do you have a new maid???
yep, we hired her. she seems pretty good but we’ll have to wait and see. she starts next friday and the only way to know if she’s good is to see how well she does the job. i’m not interested in a half assed job so if she’s not good enough, she’s gone.
We have a maid service, so it varies a little bit who we actually have clean the house. Is your maid bonded and insured? That is necessary if something gets broken or damaged. We’ve had one $100 teapot broken, and nicks in our coffee and end tables due to careless and rough vacuuming. All has been replaced/repaired by the service at no cost to us, because of the policy.
I am really glad we have ours. I hope yours works out well too! I love coming home to a clean house!
I would imagine our weekly housecleaner costs as much or less as a marriage counselor and is much more effective.
I don’t mind staying home with the kids and doing housework, but refuse to be THE maid. If I don’t get enough help from the fam (and as of yet I don’t), we pay for help.
Hope your help works out.
Well, yay! I’ve often thought about how much i’d love to have a maid, but I know I’d clean like crazy before he/she came, and…hmm….that might actually be worth it, come to think of it…
