I never believed that raising boys was any different than raising girls. I had a girl....a challenge in itself especially as she turns into a tween/teen and all these hormones come into play. But then I had a couple of boys and HOLY COW! are they different!

Yes, the need to smash stuff, to make odd and ofttimes disgusting noises, to pee all over the freaking bathroom JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN....ahem. It is quite an experience. And one VERY worthy of chronicling. Probably deserves a blog all its own. (there's a thought)

peaches - at least it wasn't my kids school! these were all parents i did not know, thank god! and yes, very very ewwww. i made dan drive madison to school because frankly, she asked me not to do it. i am that gross.

buffi - oh, i'm still short with them and my grouchiness is not exactly well hidden. this is not the perfectmom project, after all. we're just working on decibels ;)

psumommy - every morning is that kind of morning around here but dan does breakfast and thank goodness because madison is so desperately trying in the early hours! also, just lips? that was funny!

chandra - thanks ;)

Thunderous applause coming from my corner! Brava! You rock! I suck, I was yelling as I was coming down the stairs this morning, it was just that kind of morning. And I don't even have a cold sore. Just lips.

Ah, my apologizes to Drawdawn, both for making the assumption and for misspelling her name! I'm sorry! PREGNANCY MADE ME DO IT!

You'd think that having more kids would make me more patient, but I'm ashamed to admit that no, it just makes me more patient with the younger ones. Because an 18-month-old's tantrum is so freaking CUTE and ADORABLE compared to the snotty, sassing, deciding-to-ignore-the-rules-"because-I-felt-like-it" attitude of the 6-year-old. And throw in there that perhaps what might be construed as 'patient' is also more like 'entirely too exhausted to notice and/or care' (except in important instances, of course, like limbs suddenly gone missing or a 3-year-old thinking it's hilarious to repeatedly whack his little brother on the head with a bat).

Oh, and to throw in here...I had my first at 24. Definitely didn't have more patience.

I miss wine....*sigh* Just 16ish more months until I can imbibe again!

You are absolutely correct. You are SO much better than me today. Much MUCH better. I was awfully shouty. And grouchy. And I don't even like to leave the house if my lips are CHAPPED much less with a cold sore. You rock. Totally.

(no picture please. i like my eyes)

I generally hide from the public, cold sore or no. Good for you for going out and being amongst all those social school parent people. And now I don't have to see it. Because really.....ewwww. Right?

psumommy, hijack away! a little conversation in the comments section is perfectly within code. and by the way, drawdawn is also on her fourth. you two, more patience in your little fingers than i have in my whole body. i mean, you must have - FOUR KIDS??? i don't think you're supposed to start drinking wine at 8am and i'd need to with that many kids hanging around. the shoutfree project would be the let's make it til bed without packing them all up and shoving them out the front door project.

now, mind you, if i'd started having them at an earlier age i'd have had four. because for some reason i picture having been more patient in my twenties. delusions, me thinks.
